- Population: As of my last update in 2022, Cocoa Beach had a population of approximately 11,000 residents. This number can fluctuate with seasonal visitors.
- History: Cocoa Beach was incorporated in 1925, and its growth was notably influenced by the American space program’s development in the 1960s, given its proximity to Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center.
- Economy: Historically, the city’s economy was driven by its connection to the space industry and tourism. The latter remains a significant factor, with visitors coming for the beaches, surfing, fishing, and more.
- Climate: Cocoa Beach boasts a tropical rainforest climate with a marked drier season in the winter. Its sea breezes help keep temperatures from becoming too hot in the summer.
- Transportation: The closest major airport to Cocoa Beach is Orlando International Airport (MCO), about an hour’s drive away. The city is also served by SR A1A and SR 520.
