A Memorable Kayaking Tour in Cocoa Beach

The sun was shining brightly as the tour group gathered at Ramp Road Park in the early morning. Cameron, the friendly and knowledgeable tour guide from Adventure Kayak of Cocoa Beach, welcomed us and started the safety briefing. We signed the waivers, learned about kayak safety, and prepared for our kayaking adventure.

Sandy L. Asked: “Do you always see dolphins and manatees on kayaking tours?”

Dear Sandy: You will always see wildlife, but there is no guarantee you will see any specific animal. However, manatees, dolphins, blue herons, wild birds, and other animals are common in the area.

“Kayaking is a great way to get in touch with nature, especially when a family of ducks paddles by and you realize they have better kayaking form than you do.”

Launching from Ramp Road Park in Cocoa Beach

We set off and practiced paddling techniques as we made our way toward the Banana River and Thousand Islands area. The water was calm, and the scenery was breathtaking. As we navigated the winding mangrove tunnels, Cameron shared interesting facts about the local wildlife and ecosystem.

We Watched a Manatee Feed on Mangrove Trees

Just as we were rounding a bend, we spotted a manatee feeding on the edge of the water. We watched in awe as the gentle feed on mangrove trees, and Cameron explained how important it is to protect these gentle creatures.

Dolphins Were Playing Nearby

As we continued on, we encountered a pod of playful dolphins, wild birds soaring overhead, and other kayak groups enjoying the beautiful day. We paddled through narrow channels in the mangrove tunnels and under low-hanging branches, feeling completely immersed in nature.

The Kayak Tour Lasted About Two Hours

After an hour and a half, we started to make our way back to Ramp Road Park, tired but exhilarated from the experience. We thanked Cameron for an unforgettable tour and decided to leave a glowing five-star review on Google.

It was a trip we will never forget, and we left with a newfound appreciation for the natural beauty of Cocoa Beach.
